Peeling off the tape
Here students are enjoying peeling off the masking tape from their canvases. This hands on project is a great starting point for students. Because we're starting with shapes and patterns, students can see the differences and individuality, without worrying about whether their painting looks realistic. When we looked at pictures of abstract art, one grade 2/3 students raised her hand and said it was inspirational to appreciate other artists' works from the books I shared. I
